How Institutes are harnessing webinars to continue their CPD offering during the COVID crisis

Webinars

We are living through unprecedented times.

Lockdown measures have been enforced by governments worldwide, in order to halt the spread of the virus.  Despite this, Chartered Accountants across the globe – as well as students – need to be able to continue their learning journey despite face-to-face sessions and conferences being abandoned due to social distancing.  This has meant that in addition to adjusting to social distancing and working from home, we are having to get to grips with new ways of engaging and learning and the technology that accompanies it.

However, crises inadvertently create opportunity. Challenges and crises have the potential to ignite our greatest ideas, creative thoughts and leadership decisions as it forces us outside the norm. It is said that the best things lie just beyond our comfort zones.

We are very proud of the way our global family has adapted to these new circumstances.  Institutes are providing comprehensive learning opportunities on a number of relevant subjects, allowing chartered accountants everywhere to continue with their CPD. Many of our institutes have put together a series of webinars.

For example, ISCA will be tackling subjects such as ‘ Introducing Blockchain Technology for Accounting and Finance Professionals’ or how to reduce potential ethical breaches.  On the other side of the world, SAICA has launched a series of complimentary webcasts entitled ‘Leadership in times of crisis’. The series addresses a whole host of topics that are relevant to students, young chartered accountants as well as seasoned practitioners.

Our member institutes are working tirelessly to support their members through the crisis and develop further as practitioners. We have listed a range of webinars from our member institutes on our events page.  Click here to see what’s available for you.
